Enter the host address into PingLogger and it will ping it. The ping command offered by Windows delivers the same sort of functionality. The difference between the ping command and PingLogger is that the latter logs all it does to a database that you can review and analyze whenever you want.

PingLogger will run on 32 or 64-bit Windows editions, anything from Windows XP onward. If you’re going to use it on a Windows Vista or Windows 7-powered machine, please note that it needs to be run as an administrator account or with elevated privileges. And speaking about running PingLogger, to get started with the application you must download and run an executable – the database will be created and stored in the same folder as the executable.

On the PingLogger’s ribbon you will notice two tabs at the top: Basic Settings (enter the address, start the ping process, adjust the graph settings) and Advanced Settings (adjust the interval, export database to CSV, and more). Underneath the ribbon you will notice another two tabs: Live Graph (a graph of the ping process that is updated in real time) and Ping Logs (this one is self explanatory).

Using PingLogger is an incredibly simple process: enter the address you want to ping, start the ping process. The Live Graph will be updated in real time and the Ping Logs will display info on how the process is going. PingLogger will create a database of the whole process – as mentioned above, the database can be exported to CSV and you can review the database at a later time.

PingLogger is a free application. Enjoy the functionality it has to offer for as long as you want without having to part with your hard earned money.

Ping any address you want, export the database, and review it at a later time – PingLogger offers all these bits of functionality for free.

Pros

PingLogger will run on any 32 or 64-bit Windows edition. The application’s interface is incredibly easy to use. Ping any address you want, view ping results in real time, fully customizable ICMP ping settings. PingLogger is a free application.

Cons

None that I could think of.
